Fylde candidate in local mosque visit

FYLDE’S Conservative Parliamentary Candidate met with members of the local Muslim community during a visit to a Fylde coast mosque.

Mark Menzies, who is standing again in the General Election on May 7th, visited Central Mosque in Blackpool during his last days as the Member of Parliament before the House of Commons was dissolved on Monday.

During the meeting, Mr Menzies promised to continue his work to support all faiths in the area if elected.

He added: “It was a privilege to be asked to visit the mosque and speak to the elders and the Imam about my work in Parliament, particularly surrounding issues in the Middle East.

“The Imam also gave an extremely interesting and informative presentation about the history of the Muslim community on the Fylde coast.

“During my time as Member of Parliament I have met people of various faiths and have been welcomed into a great many churches in Fylde.

“I have tried my best to represent all their views during my time in Parliament and will continue to do so if re-elected on May 7th.”
