Fylde MP breaks ground on new St Annes development

FYLDE MP Mark Menzies donned a hard hat and hi vis jacket to mark the ground-breaking of McCarthy and Stone’s new Retirement Living development in St Annes.

Mr Menzies also had the opportunity to view forthcoming plans for the development during the visit and said it was vital that older people were able to maintain their independence into retirement.

He added: “It was a pleasure to formally mark the start of construction at the new development.

“Maintaining independence is incredibly important, and as we are living longer, it’s great to see developments like this which will help homeowners to maintain their lifestyle for as long as possible.”

Designed exclusively for the over 60s, the development, which is the first of its kind in St Annes, will comprise a mix of 36 one and two bedroom stylish apartments, with the first residents due to move in during summer 2016.

Fiona Brooks, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at McCarthy and Stone Northern, said: “It was fantastic to welcome everyone down to the development to commemorate the occasion, especially with Mark on hand to place the first spade in the ground.

“We’ve already received significant interest from local retirees and further afield, with purchasers attracted to the hassle-free lifestyle on offer at our Retirement Living developments.

“We’re urging anyone interested in purchasing one of these stunning apartments for themselves to get in touch with our sales team to find out more about the benefits of buying off plan.”

McCarthy and Stone’s Retirement Living developments aim to bridge the gap between conventional Retirement Living and residential care. Homeowners are able to retain independence in the form of home ownership, with their very own front door, yet still have the peace of mind of a range of additional 24/7 security and support services.

Facilities at the new St Annes development will include a stunning homeowners’ lounge ideal for socialising with friends, beautifully landscaped gardens and a convenient guest suite should homeowners have friends or relatives to stay.

The scheme also benefits from its very own House Manager, who will ensure the smooth running of the development, a security entrance system, plus 24-hour emergency call points for added peace of mind for both homeowners and their families.
