Mark Menzies attends outreach service Christmas party

FYLDE MP Mark Menzies visited a St Annes day centre to share some Christmas cheer with clients and their families.

The Member of Parliament went to the Adult Support and Outreach Service (ASOS) – formerly the Church Road Day Centre – Christmas Party after presenting managers with a cheque for £1,000 last week from the Queendeans charity, to fund festive events for service users.

During the visit he spoke to staff, clients and their families while enjoying a cup of tea and a mince pie.

He said: “I’m a big supporter of the work the Adult Support and Outreach Service does and was pleased to be able to assist when they were looking for new premises last year.

“Since then I have visited on a number of occasions and offered them my unstinting support should they need any assistance in the future.

“The service is a prime example of somewhere older and more vulnerable people can go to for support and to meet new friends and I am always pleased to be able to visit.

“I am Patron of the Queendeans and suggested that the service may be a worthwhile cause for the charity to support, and they were happy to fund the Christmas festivities.

“The party gave everyone the chance to have a bit of festive cheer and I was delighted I was able to attend.”
