Mark Menzies pledges charity support

FYLDE MP Mark Menzies met with charity bosses to offer his support as they look to secure funding to continue their important work.

Home-Start Fylde helps families with young children deal with any issues they might have and supports parents as they learn to cope by helping improve their confidence and allowing them to build better lives for their children.

Mr Menzies, who is a patron of the charity, met with the team at their headquarters in St Thomas’s Church, St Annes, on Friday and told bosses theirs was a service which Fylde must not lose.

He added: “I know Home-Start has helped a great number of families locally who have faced a raft of different issues in their lives and it is vital it receives funding and support to ensure it can continue carrying out its crucial work.

“I have been a supporter of the charity for years and I told the team I am happy to do all I can to support it in any bids for funding it may be making or with any events they want to hold.

“Whenever I have spoken to someone who has benefitted from their involvement with Home-Start, they always stress the importance of getting that support and it is important that support remains in place.”
