Mark Menzies praises FSB at opening of new premises

FYLDE MP Mark Menzies praised the work of a Fylde based business group during the opening of its new premises.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) began life in Fylde but has gone on to become a nationally renowned organisation which represents the interests of thousands of companies around the country.

Mr Menzies joined Blackpool South MP Gordon Marsden to open the group’s new office on Sir Frank Whittle Way, St Annes, as part of its ongoing expansion.

Following the event, Mr Menzies said: “I was delighted to be invited to open the Federation of Small Businesses’ new Fylde offices, along with my colleague Gordon Marsden.

“The FSB does a fantastic job promoting small and medium enterprises and representing their interests across the public, private and voluntary sectors.

“These types of businesses are the lifeblood of our communities and provide employment for millions of people around the country while putting vital funds into the public coffers so it is important groups like the FSB are around to ensure their views are well represented.

“It is also worth noting that the FSB is an excellent employer in its own right and has 80 staff based at its Fylde offices alone.

“This new building will allow the organisation to carry out its planned expansion and hopefully achieve its aim of representing the interests of a large proportion of the UK’s business community.”
