Mark Menzies visits new affordable housing development

FYLDE MP Mark Menzies visited families who have moved into their new homes on an affordable housing development in St Annes.

The Porritt Place development on St David’s Road North was built by Progress Housing Group and completed this summer.

The 32 new properties, a mix of two, three and four-bedroom family homes, as well as one and two bedroom flats and two bedroom bungalows, were then made available for tenants with a local connection at an affordable rent.

The Member of Parliament visited the site during construction with St Annes Mayor Vivienne Willder and said he was pleased to see how well the families had settled in to their new homes.

Mr Menzies said: “I was absolutely delighted to be able to visit the residents who have now moved into their new homes and see what a fantastic job Progress has done creating quality accommodation for people in St Annes.

“I last visited the estate when it was a building site so to see the transformation since then was excellent.

“It has gone from being a derelict works site to a wonderful new estate providing high standard new properties for Fylde families to move into.”

During the visit Mr Menzies spoke with Sarah Hill and her family, who said they were very pleased with their new home and the standard of construction at the new development.
