FYLDE MP Mark Menzies has praised the work of retiring Ormerod Chief Executive Sue Sharples.

Service users, staff, trustees and friends and family gathered on Friday for the charity’s annual Christmas party while taking the opportunity to thank Sue for the hard work she had put in during her 12 years of service.

Ormerod works with people with learning difficulties in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre, offering support to assist them in taking control of their own lives via a range of services.

Sue will be replaced by incoming Chief Executive Daniel Jones.

Ormerod’s patron, Mr Menzies said: “It was brilliant to see the number of people who turned up to give Sue the send off she deserved.

“So many people took the time to come along and say how much they appreciated what she had done for Ormerod over the last 12 years and it was clear to see how highly she is regarded by everyone involved with the charity.

“They are big shoes to fill but I wish Daniel every success in his new role.”
