MP thanks shale gas panel

MARK Menzies MP has thanked residents and regulators for attending his public meeting on shale gas last night.

The meeting, kindly hosted by the United Reform Church on St George’s Road, St Annes, saw regulators, Cuadrilla, Mr Menzies and others asked questions on all aspects of shale gas.

Regulators were able to shed light on the regulatory process and left well aware of the concerns of the people of Fylde.

Mr Menzies said: “I’m very grateful to everyone for coming along.

“I thought it was extremely productive and gave the regulators a firsthand taste of the concerns of the people of Fylde.

“This is not the end of the process, this is the start, and no decisions have been taken.

“I will continue to work to ensure the views of the people of Fylde are right at the very forefront.”
