Fylde MP visits new school development at AKS

AKS was delighted to welcome Mark Menzies, the MP for Fylde, to the site of its new Junior School on Friday 21st June. The Blackpool based building contractor F. Parkinson conducted a walk round the new school building with the MP, who is also a local resident, Jerry Wooding OBE, the Chair of Governors at the school, and a number of junior school teachers. MP in diabetes healthcare plea

FYLDE MP Mark Menzies has shown his support for children with Type 1 diabetes by backing a call by Diabetes UK for improved healthcare for children and young people living with the condition. MP calls for correct support for sick children

FYLDE MP Mark Menzies has given his backing to children in Fylde with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions. The Member of Parliament this week attended an event at the Palace of Westminster organised by the charity Together for Short Lives. THIS week I was keen to hear an announcement by Defence Secretary Philip Hammond on changes his department was planning on military procurement, as this could obviously have a major effect on BAE Systems, which employs several thousand people in Fylde. The Government is looking at a number of options to improve the purchasing of major defence equipment contracts that will take complexity out of the process while hopefully saving the taxpayer money. Labour pension plan would punish most vulnerable

FYLDE MP Mark Menzies today revealed Labour’s plan to “punish” pensioners should the party be voted in at the next General Election. Research has shown that Labour’s proposal to cut the Basic State Pension would affect 21,980 pensioners in his Fylde constituency and would mean the allowance would be £234 less a year by 2017/18.
