Minister’s pledge to Fylde MP over link road

The roads minister has pledged to do all he can to ensure the M55 link road is built as soon as possible. MP Mark Menzies welcomes Fylde coast rail improvements

Fylde MP Mark Menzies has welcomed the start of work which will allow for six direct return services to London every day, stopping at Kirkham and Wesham Railway Station. Network Rail is now electrifying the Blackpool North to Preston line and key improvements will be made at the Fylde station, allowing for the direct link to the capital and an increase in local services. MP Mark Menzies visited small businesses across Fylde constituency on Small Business Saturday, calling for more support for local high streets. Mr Menzies attended a meeting at a cafe and local produce shop before visiting small businesses in Lytham and St Annes. There was a festive start to this week with the annual Christmas lights switch-ons in Ansdell and St Annes. Some of the cast of Lowther Pavilion's pantomime were on hand to throw the switch in Ansdell and it was good to see them supporting our local shops.
