Boiled water notice lifted in parts of Fylde

United Utilities has today announced that the boiled water notice affecting Fylde has been lifted in certain areas. The affected postcodes include FY8 1, FY8 2 and FY8 3 but members of the public are advised to check their postcode on the United Utilities website before using water from their taps. A spokesman for United Utilities said: "With immediate effect, a further 25,000 customers in parts of south Blackpool and Lytham St Annes no longer need to boil their tap water. Fylde MP Mark Menzies meets United Utilities chiefs over water issues

FYLDE MP Mark Menzies has met with United Utilities chief executive Steve Mogford to seek answers over the area’s current water problems. Today it is three weeks since a boiled water notice was put in place affecting Fylde and the wider area. While it is critical that no risks are taken over people’s health, I have informed United Utilities that I do not believe that is good enough and that it must do everything it can to make sure we get clean water from our taps back running as soon as possible. Mark Menzies MP supports new animal shelter appeal

FYLDE MP Mark Menzies has joined forces with volunteers to help raise money for an under-threat animal shelter. The Member of Parliament attended a fundraising event in aid of Easterleigh Animal Sanctuary at the Station Tavern in Lytham on Sunday. The St Annes-based charity is looking for a new home after the land on which its Queensway Park Farm headquarters sits was sold and the new owner chose not to renew its lease.
