Bureau boost for Fylde residents

FYLDE residents with problems now have an extra avenue for help after their local Citizens Advice Bureau extended their opening hours.

Staff at the facility on Moor Street, Kirkham, are now running a triage service – telephone, drop in and appointments  – every Saturday between 10am and 1pm.

The extra service, funding by the Local Strategic Partnership and Lancashire Local Gateways, is entitled Access for All, and also runs on Thursday evenings between 4pm and 7pm for appointments and triage telephone advice.

Mark Menzies MP, who often holds his constituency advice surgeries at the CAB offices, said: “CAB do a magnificent job of helping people and I hope people will use the extra service time.

“Opening on a Saturday and early evening may be ideal for working people or others with commitments during week days.”

CAB aim to ensure that individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities or of the services available to them, or through an inability to express their needs effectively and equally.

All of the advice they give is entirely free of charge and is independent, impartial and confidential.
