Conservative candidate Mark Menzies tells BBC of defence and infrastructure hopes

Mark Menzies with the BBC's Sean McGinty

Fylde Conservative candidate spoke to BBC Radio Lancashire about his hopes for the election.

Mark met up with popular presenter Sean McGinty who asked what Fylde folk could expect if Mark were to be re-elected.

Mark said he hoped to continue improving infrastructure, with the advent of the M55 link road works soon to begin, and also to protect the thousands of defence jobs in the area.

Jeremy Corbyn’s proposed ban on arms sales would affect thousands of jobs at BAE Systems in Warton – Mark has spent the past seven years pressing the government to help increased orders for Hawk and Typhoon aircraft built at the plant.

The radio broadcast is expected to go out next week.
