Fylde towns among top places to live in Britain

LYTHAM and St Annes have been named among the top places to live in the country, according to a new guide.

The Best Places to Live list, produced as part of a six part series by the Sunday Times, said the two near neighbours were one of the 10 best locations in the North West to set up home.

Commenting, Fylde MP Mark Menzies said: “It is fantastic that this guide has been published to confirm what many of us who live in Fylde already know.

“In recent years I think the entire area has only got better and better and to receive national recognition of that can only be a good thing.

“These lists help boost tourism and visitor numbers as people do pay attention to these kinds of things when deciding where to go on holiday.

“But Lytham and St Annes are only two of many beautiful towns within my constituency.

“Fylde is packed with stunning villages and towns and I never cease to marvel at the sights I see when out working in the constituency.

“It is a credit to our local communities and measure of the pride people have in the upkeep and maintenance of their areas which keeps Fylde at the top of lists such as this.

“This can also be seen in the number of success stories we have had in the local and national In Bloom competitions.”
