Fylde MP Mark Menzies is meeting with both Northern Rail and Network Rail to demand answers over the catastrophic timetabling issues causing train cancellations.
Mr Menzies will meet with senior officials, and is due to meet the Secretary of State for Transport, to discuss the poor service constituents are receiving on the Blackpool South and Blackpool North lines.
Northern was forced to introduce a temporary reduced timetable after issues arose following the electrification of the line to Blackpool North.
Mr Menzies said: "Around half of the services on the South Fylde line are now bus replacements. Services are cancelled at the drop of a hat and there appears to be a complete breakdown in Northern's communications with passengers.
"This is simply not acceptable.
"My constituents have the absolute right to expect trains to run on time, getting them to work and school and back, with the minimum of fuss.
"I understand a bus replacement service was subsequently replaced with a minibus taxi. It is beyond a joke. We are talking about people's livelihoods.
"Northern are treating passengers with utter contempt and I will be demanding to know how this situation is going to improve.
"I'll also be meeting to discuss the matter with the Secretary of State."
