Fylde MP Mark Menzies has highlighted the importance of the UK taking control of its borders and trade policies as Parliament looks at the Brexit deal.
Fylde MP Mark Menzies said: "This is a very fast-moving situation.
"I want to see central to any agreement that we can control our own borders and that we can control our trade policies.
"Having a number of companies, including Westinghouse at Springfields and BAE Systems in Warton, that trade significantly with the European Union, I'm looking at the detail in this deal and want to ensure we are protecting the interests of these workers.
"We must get the best possible deal for us all."
Mr Menzies also called for calm from his fellow MPs following a spate of resignations over the deal on offer.
He said: "I wonder what our European neighbours are thinking when we see our own Prime Minister being so undermined as we deal with the most important piece of post-war legislation we have ever dealt with. It is appalling."
Parliament gave the British people the final say on the UK’s membership of the EU and the ballot paper presented voters with an unambiguous choice to remain or to leave.
Turnout was larger than at any election since 1992, and no Prime Minister or party in British history has ever received as many votes as the vote to leave did.
Mr Menzies added: "The Government will follow its duty to respect and deliver the referendum result in full and in the national interest; I support them in this, and do not support attempts to remain inside the EU, rejoin through the back door, or calls for a Second Referendum.
"What we must strive for are sensible, common-sense proposals that deliver on the Brexit promises that people voted for, work for businesses and ensure we take back control of our borders, law and money."
