Fylde MP Mark Menzies wants to know which is the best South Asian restaurant in Fylde.
Mr Menzies is asking for nominations from Fylde residents for the annual Tiffin Cup competition, held in Parliament to recognise the best South Asian restaurant in the UK.
He said: “We have already had a finalist here in Fylde when Bilash Balti represented Fylde in 2013. I want to know which restaurant residents believe is the very best in the constituency. I’ll be gathering as many responses as possible and putting the most popular name suggested through to the competition.
“We have some phenomenal South Asian restaurants and no shortage of worthy entrants – please let me know which you would like to see put forward and why.”
The Bilash was the first restaurant in Fylde to win the best in the North West category and to make it through to the grand final in 2013. Celebrity chef Ainsley Harriet became chairman of the judging panel that year
The current Tiffin Cup champion is Kuti’s Brasserie in Southampton, awarded in 2019 ahead of the pandemic. Some 13 restaurants were in the final, with Kuti’s Sikandari Royal Lamb proving to be the winning dish.
