Students tell Fylde MP about college life

Blackpool Sixth Students from Fylde met with their MP to let him know about life at their new college.

Fylde MP Mark Menzies asked Blackpool Sixth Principal Jill Gray to set up the meeting with students from his constituency so he could hear about their experiences at the college.

I was pleased to see Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy minister Richard Harrington visiting Springfields in Fylde.

Once Richard was appointed, I immediately introduced him to Westinghouse bosses from the site in Parliament.

The number of unemployed people in Fylde fell to 625 in August - 85 lower than the previous year, and 30 lower than last month.

Fylde MP backs Lottery bid for top tourist attraction

Fylde MP Mark Menzies has written to the Heritage Lottery Fund in full support of plans to restore Fairhaven Lake.

Mr Menzies wrote a letter of support for the Fylde Council bid which would see a major restoration and improvements at the top attraction.

I'm pleased to see the Government taking steps to stop the sale of puppies and kittens from unscrupulous breeders.
This will make life far more difficult for the appalling puppy and kittens farmers who have scant regard for the health and wellbeing of the animals they sell.
