Fylde MP Mark Menzies has welcomed the expansion of testing for the Covid-19 virus.
More than 122,000 tests were carried out in the UK on April 30 after the Government set a target of 100,000 tests per day.
Mr Menzies said: “Testing has now been expanded to include all essential workers with symptoms, anyone over 65 with symptoms, and anyone whose work cannot be done from home with symptoms as well as those being treated in hospital.
“Anyone who lives with any of these identified people are also eligible for a test, along with social care workers and residents in care homes and NHS workers and patients, with or without symptoms.
“This testing is vital to help with track and trace, the next phase of our virus response, to help minimise the spread of the virus.”
