- The Conservative Government is investing a further £200 million to fix four million potholes across the country, improving road standards for drivers in Fylde.
- This funding builds on new figures that show Conservative-run councils repaired three times as many potholes on average as Labour councils did in the last year.
- The £200 million funding is in addition to the £2.7 billion investment already committed to improve local roads for millions of drivers across the country.
Mark Menzies MP has welcomed £5,122,000 to fix 102,440 potholes across Lancashire to improve road standards for drivers, saving them money on repairs, and making it easier to get to work and see family.
The Conservative Government are investing £200 million to fix four million potholes across England. This funding builds on the £2.7 billion of highways maintenance funding, already committed between tax years 2022-25.
New analysis shows Conservative-run councils repaired three times as many potholes on average as Labour-run councils did in the last year. This funding will ensure councils can continue to deliver this quality service for drivers across the country.
In addition to repairs and maintenance, Lancashire County Council is set to resurface the following roads in 2023:
- Cartmell Lane, Lytham – reconstruction of a 210m stretch at the bend near Primrose Hill Farm
- Clifton Gardens, Lytham – resurfacing full length
- East Cliffe and Victoria Street, Lytham – resurfacing full lengths of both
- Grange Road, St. Annes – surface dressing from Oxford Road to St. David’s Road North
- Grasmere Road and surrounding roads, St. Annes – surface dressing of Highbury Road East from Leech Lane to Grasmere Road; and the full lengths of Grasmere Road, Marlborough Road and Chatham Avenue
- Kirkham/Wesham bypass (A585) – surface dressing between Blackpool Road and Fleetwood Road (B5192)
- Moss Side Lane, Stalmine – reconstruction between pumphouse and Union Lane
- Salwick Place and Weeton Avenue, St. Annes North resurfacing full lengths of both
- Westby Street, Lytham – surface dressing from Ballam Road to Park View Road
