Mark Menzies has welcomed a new life assurance scheme for NHS and Social Care workers announced by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.
The scheme pays a £60,000 lump sum to the families of those who have died, and had been recently working in frontline roles and locations where personal care is provided to individuals who have contracted the coronavirus.
Mr Menzies said: “Every single loss to coronavirus is a tragedy, there is no question of that. And there is no replacing a lost loved one. However I hope this announcement helps ease any financial implications and worries for the families of our NHS and care heroes who sadly succumb to this dreadful virus.
“Our NHS workers and care workers are on the front line in this pandemic and I hope they understand how much they are valued by each and every one of us.”
