With pre-Christmas festivities getting into full swing, the weekend delivered more than one unexpected turn. Fortunately the wild weather, while bringing down trees and delivering a flurry of snow, didn’t stop people in Ansdell and Kirkham getting out for their Christmas lights switch-on events.

Fylde MP rules out fracking return

MP Mark Menzies insists there must be no return of fracking in Fylde.

 

All exploration using the controversial technique was halted in the UK two-years-ago when the Government issued a moratorium following earthquakes which rocked the Fylde Coast.

Heavy rain over the weekend has brought with it the fear of flooding for many communities across Fylde. I know how worried many people get when the rain starts falling and the relentless deluge we experienced on Saturday and Sunday was a reminder of the need for action.

Fylde MP Mark Menzies wants to know which is the best South Asian restaurant in Fylde.

Mr Menzies is asking for nominations from Fylde residents for the annual Tiffin Cup competition, held in Parliament to recognise the best South Asian restaurant in the UK.
