It has most certainly been a disappointing start to the year for rail passengers here in Fylde, with services along the South Fylde branch cancelled for five straight days due to industrial action.

Fylde MP calls on fracking firm to pack up and go

Fylde MP Mark Menzies has called on fracking firm Cuadrilla to pack up and leave following a bid by the firm to extend it’s planning permission for wells at Preston New Road.

The game is up. The fracking industry has had the opportunity, time and again, to demonstrate this method of extraction can be used safely here in Fylde. As I said in Parliament earlier this year, you cannot keep doing the same thing and expect something different to happen.
